The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Thelda Jean Kenerley. The incident took place around 6 p.m. in the 400 block of Forsythe Street.

According to the preliminary investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a 39-year-old driver—believed to be a guest at the home—was behind the wheel of an SUV when they possibly suffered a medical event. The vehicle struck Kenerley, pinning her against a washing machine located in the rear corner of the garage.

Aftermath

Kenerley suffered fatal blunt force injuries during the collision and was officially pronounced dead at the scene at 6:47 p.m. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
