Alabama law enforcement investigates deadly Baldwin County collision

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is currently conducting an investigation into a fatal multi-vehicle collision that occurred in Baldwin County.

Details of the Crash

The incident took place at approximately 11:06 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3. According to an official news release, 66-year-old James Archie of Atmore was operating a 2013 Hyundai Sonata when he collided with a 2005 Honda CRV, driven by 26-year-old Logan Holcomb of Milton, Fla. Following the initial impact, Archie's vehicle subsequently struck a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder operated by 53-year-old Katrina Brown of Fairhope.

Injuries and Investigation

Following the collision, Archie was rushed to University Hospital in Mobile. Despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Katrina Brown sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to North Baldwin Hospital in Bay Minette for treatment.

Authorities confirmed the accident occurred on U.S. 31 near the 23-mile marker, roughly one mile north of the Bay Minette city limits. Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division are continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash, as reported by 205focus.com. No further information is available at this time.
