Warrior Police Sergeant and Former Chief Placed on Leave Following Domestic Violence Arrest

A veteran law enforcement officer and former Kimberly police chief is facing legal scrutiny following a misdemeanor arrest. Sgt. Ricky Pridmore, 36, currently a sergeant with the Warrior Police Department, was placed on administrative leave after being charged with third-degree domestic violence/harassment. According to Jefferson County jail records, Pridmore turned himself in at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and was released shortly after at 3:43 p.m.

Specific details regarding the allegations remain under wraps as the investigation continues. Warrior Mayor Keith Mosley confirmed that Pridmore surrendered voluntarily to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office once the warrant was issued. In a statement to AL.com, Mosley emphasized that the city is committed to a fair process, noting that the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will handle both the legal proceedings and the internal employment-related investigation to ensure impartiality.

Mosley was quick to clarify that the decision to place Pridmore on leave is a procedural step rather than a disciplinary action or a determination of guilt. The Mayor described Pridmore as a "long-time valued member of the Warrior Police Department and a lifelong respected resident of our community," adding that the sergeant is "highly regarded" for his service and faith.

While Warrior Police Chief Scott Praytor has not yet commented on the situation, Pridmore’s wife voiced her support on social media. She stated it is "incredibly difficult to sit quietly while someone you love is being accused of something you know does not reflect the person you know them to be." The Mayor concluded his statement by expressing hope for a swift resolution to the matter, maintaining that Pridmore deserves to be treated with fairness throughout the legal process.
