Costco, known for its 93-inch plush teddy, is launching a new bear this season
The CEO didn’t give a date for the launch of the new branded bear but said it’s “coming soon.”
If you have shopped at Costco during the holiday rush, you have likely encountered the massive, 93-inch plush teddy bear. Priced at $300, this oversized gift has become a staple for shoppers looking to make a big impression, offering plenty of room for children to curl up in its lap.
A New Twist on a Fan Favorite
According to CEO Ron Vachris, the warehouse giant is looking to shake things up. Costco is currently developing its own unique version of the iconic plush toy. Vachris told Eating Well that this project stands as the company's “biggest” upcoming launch.
While the original 93-inch version remains available for purchase online—you can see it here—the new iteration will feature a slightly different approach. Vachris noted that the store has utilized a bear in its marketing literature for years, and buyers are now capitalizing on that history.
“Our buyers have a new twist on the 93-inch bear coming out this fall,” Vachris said. “It’s not going to be as big of a bear, but it’s going to be a Costco logo bear that I think will be a huge hit for us.”
Coming Soon to Costco
As 205focus.com reported, while an exact release date has not yet been set for the branded plush, the official word is that it is “coming soon.” Keep your eyes peeled for this new addition to the aisles this fall.
