Alabama tornado count climbs to 4 from Friday storms
Friday's tornadoes were mostly short-lived.
The National Weather Service has officially confirmed four tornadoes following the severe weather that swept across Alabama this past Friday. According to reports from the NWS as of Saturday afternoon, while these storms were largely short-lived, they left a clear path of destruction across the region.

The confirmed touchdowns were split between north and central Alabama. Meteorologists from the Birmingham office deployed storm survey teams to investigate activity in Marengo and Hale counties, confirming both an EF1 and an EF0 tornado in those areas. Meanwhile, the NWS Huntsville office verified an EF1 tornado that touched down near Baileyton in Cullman County.
Additionally, a high-profile EF1 tornado in Tuscaloosa County—which gained significant attention on social media—was surveyed by weather officials on Friday. Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported in connection with any of these four weather events.
