The Arrest

Thomas Ronald Liccione, 21, faces a charge of aggravated animal cruelty. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 5 p.m. Sunday and has since been released after posting a $15,000 bond.

Police Investigation

Homewood police Sgt. Mark Trippe stated that authorities were flooded with 911 calls around 1 p.m. Saturday reporting a driver discarding kittens from a vehicle along I-65 near Lakeshore Parkway. Responding officers tracked the vehicle described by witnesses to a location on Lakeshore Drive, where they conducted a stop and detained the driver.
