New 24/7 diner coming to Birmingham’s Five Points South vows to be affordable: ‘This economy sucks’

Birmingham’s Five Points South neighborhood is getting a new around-the-clock dining destination. Karma’s Kitchen, a 24-hour breakfast spot, is set to join the local culinary scene with a focus on value and accessibility.

Affordable Eats Around the Clock

The project was officially announced by owner Dan Williams, who is already a familiar face in the district as the proprietor of Dave’s Pub. Williams confirmed that the new venture will be located right next to Ocean restaurant.

While the goal is to open by mid-July, the concept behind Karma’s Kitchen is intentionally straightforward. According to Williams, the team is avoiding pretension and over-the-top themes. As he put it, “It’s just a diner. A place where you can get eggs and pancakes.”

Menu Highlights

Karma’s Kitchen plans to offer breakfast options 24/7. Beyond the morning staples, the kitchen will serve burgers and patty melts between 11 a.m. and 2 a.m. The menu will also feature plate lunches available Monday through Friday. Notably, the establishment will not serve alcohol, keeping the focus entirely on the food.

Williams emphasized that maintaining affordable pricing is a primary goal for the new business, noting simply that “this economy sucks.” Williams told Bham Now that he is committed to keeping the dining experience simple for the community.
