Body of 61-year-old Mississippi man who fell off pontoon boat recovered 3 days later

A tragic search on Pickwick Lake concluded Tuesday morning as recovery teams located the body of a Mississippi man who went missing over the weekend. Lowell L. Hinton Jr., 61, of Corinth, Mississippi, had been reported missing after an incident on the water in Lauderdale County.
Incident Details
The event unfolded around 3:21 p.m. this past Saturday. According to ALEA Capt. Jeremy Burkett, Hinton was operating a 20-foot Tracker Pontoon boat near Yellow Creek and State Line Island when he fell overboard. Reports confirm that Hinton fell overboard and did not resurface. Officials noted that he was not wearing a personal flotation device at the time of the accident.
Recovery and Response
After a three-day search operation, rescue teams recovered Hinton’s body Tuesday morning in the immediate vicinity of where he had entered the water.
The recovery effort involved a collaborative task force from multiple jurisdictions. Agencies providing assistance included the Mississippi Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Mississippi Hardin County Fire Department, the Mississippi Hardin County Emergency Management Agency, the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department, and the ALEA Aviation Unit and Marine Patrol Troopers.
