Ex-NFL receiver arrested for allegedly having public sex at mall
Former West Virginia star, NFL receiver arrested for his actions at Round1 Bowling & Arcade.
Former NFL wide receiver Stedman Bailey was arrested in Florida last month following an incident at a local mall. According to a report from TMZ, the former pro athlete faced legal trouble after allegedly engaging in public sexual activity.
The Incident at Pembroke Lakes Mall
The situation unfolded on July 26 at Round1 Bowling & Arcade, located inside the Pembroke Lakes Mall. Authorities state that Bailey and a woman were drinking at the establishment's bar when the situation escalated. Surveillance footage reportedly captured the pair with their pants down, and a witness informed police that she observed the two engaging in intercourse before intervening and demanding they stop.
When questioned by police, Bailey admitted that he and the woman had lowered their pants but denied that any penetration occurred. The former receiver cited his level of intoxication, noting they had been taking shots, as the reason for his behavior. He was ultimately arrested and charged with misdemeanor exposure of sexual organs.
A Storied Football Career
Before his legal issues, Bailey made a name for himself as a standout receiver at West Virginia. During a dominant junior season, he earned All-American honors by hauling in 114 catches for 1,622 yards and 25 touchdowns. Over the course of his three-year collegiate career, he racked up 3,218 total yards and 41 scores.
Following his success in Morgantown, the St. Louis Rams selected Bailey in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He went on to appear in 38 games over three professional seasons, recording 59 receptions for 843 yards and two touchdowns. His NFL career was tragically cut short after he was shot in the head, forcing his retirement from the sport.
