Rankin served as a substitute educator at Oak Grove High School. According to records from the Jefferson County Jail, the incident in question reportedly took place on May 11. While official details regarding the situation remain limited, the seriousness of the allegation has prompted immediate action from school leadership.

School System Response

Rankin was processed into the Jefferson County Jail at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday and was released less than an hour later at 2:48 p.m. Her bond is currently set at $30,000.

In a statement provided to 205focus.com, Superintendent Walter Gonsoulin confirmed that the school system is fully cooperating with law enforcement investigators. "Our primary concern is the well-being and safety of our students," Gonsoulin stated. "Upon learning of the allegations, school administration immediately contacted the third-party agency that supplies our substitute teachers to ensure the individual did not return to school property."

Gonsoulin further clarified the nature of the reports, noting, "It is our understanding that the charges pertain to an off-campus situation. As this is an ongoing investigation and involves student privacy, we are unable to provide further comment."
