FMC Corp., the Philadelphia-based agricultural sciences powerhouse, is set to reduce its footprint in Mobile County. According to a WARN notice filed this Tuesday, the company will lay off 41 employees at its Axis manufacturing facility effective October 31.
A History in Axis
While the company traces its roots back to 1883 in Los Gatos, California, its presence in Alabama is more recent. FMC Corp. acquired the Axis production site in 2017.
