Popular outdoor apparel store making a move to Huntsville’s Parkway Place
Larger store will allow company to showcase brands that are new to market, CEO says.
Huntsville shoppers looking to level up their outdoor gear have something big to look forward to. Mountain High Outfitters is set to open its doors at Parkway Place Mall next month, bringing an active lifestyle boutique to the second level of the shopping center near Belk.
A Destination for Outdoor Enthusiasts
Whether you are prepping for a rugged adventure or simply need high-quality everyday apparel, the new store promises a wide selection of footwear, gear, and accessories. Shoppers can expect to find popular brands such as Vuori, HOKA, ON, Birkenstock, Local Boy, Rainbow, Free People Movement, and Aviator Nation.
Amanda Homelvig, the marketing director for Parkway Place, noted that the addition is a win for the mall's lineup. "Mountain High Outfitters is a great addition to Parkway Place Mall," Homelvig said. "The brand expands our offerings and provides our guests with more options for outdoor apparel and adventure-ready gear."
Expanding a Proven Presence
While the new location is an exciting upgrade, the retailer is no stranger to the area. Mountain High Outfitters has maintained a presence in Huntsville since 2007. The company, which originated in Birmingham, has grown significantly and now boasts 30 locations across Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, and Utah.
Company founder and CEO Christopher Groom expressed enthusiasm for the move, highlighting the city's rapid growth. "Huntsville is a booming community; the growth there over the last five to 10 years is exponential," Groom said. "The location allows us to connect with people who live an active lifestyle and value both function and style. I think it’s a great opportunity to showcase what we do in a higher traffic area."
Groom also emphasized that the larger footprint will allow the retailer to introduce fresh concepts to the city. "One thing I think will be a huge win for all of us is just a brand-new store in a great shopping center," Groom told 205focus.com. "I can showcase some of the brands that are new to market. That is a big thing for MHO, which is to bring new and upcoming brands that are not really in the market."
More Changes at Parkway Place
Mountain High Outfitters isn't the only newcomer making waves at the mall. The center is also preparing for the arrival of Miss A, which is scheduled to open in the coming weeks on the upper level next to Hot Topic. "We’re thrilled about these additions and the new experiences they bring to Parkway Place Mall," Homelvig said.
