Rubio noted that Hegseth keeps his front door open to accommodate his own two cats—a detail that surprised the Secretary of State, who remarked that he never pegged Hegseth as a cat person. According to reports from the New York Post, the dog once strolled into the Hegseth living room before realizing he was in the wrong place and promptly turning around.

The Cat With Serious Attitude

While the dogs are mostly just wandering, the real tension lies with one of Hegseth’s cats, which has taken a liking to Rubio’s porch. Rubio described the feline as having a serious case of "cat-itude" and an air of unmistakable arrogance.

"I’ll get home at night and the cat is just sitting on my porch and just looks at me," Rubio said. Most cats bolt when approached, but not this one. "This one does not take off running," he added, labeling the visitor as a "very arrogant cat."
