State inmate serving life for robbery dies at William Donaldson Correctional Facility

The inmate, identified as Larry Thomas, was discovered unresponsive in the prison infirmary at 6:25 p.m. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead just five minutes later at 6:30 p.m. Thomas had been serving a life sentence following a 2000 robbery conviction originating out of Calhoun County.
Cause of Death
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates confirmed that Thomas was receiving treatment for a terminal illness at the time of his death. While an official autopsy is pending to confirm the exact cause and manner of death, officials have noted that there are currently no indications of foul play.
