US making additional 250,000 commemorative passports available

The U.S. State Department is giving travelers another chance to secure a piece of history. Officials announced the release of an additional 250,000 special edition passports, providing a unique opportunity to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in style.

Officially branded as “Patriot Passports,” these travel documents debuted earlier this year as part of the nationwide semiquincentennial celebrations. Each book is packed with patriotic flair, featuring a portrait of President Trump, the full text of the Declaration of Independence, a striking Freedom 250 gold flag, and an illustration of the Founding Fathers as they signed the historic document.

If you are considering snagging one of these commemorative books, keep in mind they function exactly like a standard passport. Each commemorative edition contains 26 pages. Please note that the large-format, 56-page books are not available in this special design. The good news? There is no additional cost to request one. These passports are exclusively available through in-person application appointments. They cannot be obtained via mail-in applications, online portals, acceptance centers, or through U.S. embassies and consulates.
