According to findings from the online gaming site ACE.com, Alabama is full of surprising spots to meet someone new. After surveying 3,024 people to identify where singles are most likely to hit it off, the results crowned a Saturday afternoon trip to a Walmart Supercenter or Neighborhood Market as the state's top location for an unexpected encounter.
The experts at ACE.com suggest that dating app fatigue is driving people toward lower-pressure environments. When you aren't trying to impress a date, you're more likely to strike up a genuine conversation. As the report notes, meeting someone while navigating a crowded aisle or waiting at self-checkout is effectively "destiny with rollback pricing."
Beyond the big-box store
Walmart wasn't the only Alabama destination to make the cut. Four other locations were highlighted for their unique potential to foster romance, including The Market at Pepper Place, Buc-ee’s, Bass Pro Shops, and Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.
