Montgomery authorities have officially identified the victim of a tragic weekend murder-suicide. Officials confirmed on Monday that 29-year-old Montgomery resident Arianna Grant was the woman killed in the incident.
Incident Details
Emergency responders were called to the 2936 block of Simmons Drive at 11:29 p.m. on Friday following reports of a shooting, as reported by 205focus.com's initial coverage of the scene. Upon arrival, police discovered Grant deceased.
First responders also located a man at the scene suffering from a self-inflicted, life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. While his identity has not been released, investigators have characterized the incident as domestic-related.

The death of Grant marks the 17th homicide in Montgomery for the year. Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation into the matter.
