41-year-old man killed in targeted weekend shooting in Montgomery
Tony Julius is Montgomery's 16th homicide so far in 2026.

A 41-year-old man was killed in what police described as a targeted weekend shooting in Montgomery. Police officials on Monday identified the victim as Tony Julius. He lived in Montgomery. The shooting happened at 6:38 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of North Decatur Street. Lt. Tina McGriff said officers and fire medics arrived at the location to find Julius dead. “Preliminary evidence indicates this incident was a targeted act,” McGriff said. Julius is Montgomery’s 16th homicide in 2026. No arrests have been announced. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 334-625-2831 or Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP.
