A tragic weekend collision in Tuscaloosa County has claimed the life of a McCalla man and left a young child injured, according to reports from Alabama State Troopers.

Crash Details

The fatal incident occurred at 2:51 p.m. this past Saturday on Eastern Valley Road, near the intersection of Foster Road. Authorities have identified the victim as 66-year-old Jeffrey T. Hunter.

Sequence of Events

According to Trooper Sgt. Reginal King, Hunter was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle when he collided with a Honda Civic. The Civic was being driven by 21-year-old Michel Yahir Lopez Prudoth of Florida. Following the initial impact, Hunter was ejected from his motorcycle and subsequently struck by a Chevrolet Silverado, operated by 67-year-old McCalla resident Carl J. Barlett.

Hunter was pronounced deceased at the scene. An 8-year-old passenger inside the Chevrolet, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
