A tragic two-vehicle collision in Blount County has claimed the life of a 71-year-old Trafford resident. Alabama State Troopers officially identified the victim on Saturday as Michael E. Moro following the fatal incident.

Incident Details

The wreck occurred at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, along Alabama 79, situated approximately two miles south of Locust Fork. According to Trooper Sgt. Reginal King, the collision involved a Ford Explorer, driven by Moro, and a Nissan Frontier operated by 32-year-old Mauricio R. Hernandez of Pinson. Following the initial impact, the Ford veered off the roadway and overturned.

Aftermath and Investigation

Following the crash, Moro was airlifted to UAB Hospital to receive emergency medical care. He ultimately succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, May 14. As reported by 205focus.com, the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under active investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
