Birmingham commercial realty firm makes major acquisition in ‘full-circle moment’
The new website and branding will be introduced over the coming weeks.
A major shift is reshaping the Birmingham commercial real estate landscape as West Harris and Norman Tynes have officially acquired Harbert Realty Services. This move marks a homecoming for the duo, who originally launched Harris Tynes Realty Group in Birmingham back in 2005.
A Full-Circle Evolution
Following their initial founding, the firm was acquired by Harbert Realty Services in November 2013, a deal that helped form one of the most significant privately held real estate organizations in the Southeast. Now, this latest acquisition returns the company to independent ownership and successfully restores the Harris Tynes brand.
“It is a full-circle moment,” said CEO Norman Tynes. “This restoration gives us full decision-making authority and the opportunity to shape the company’s future. Most of all, it lets us build the firm around what we know best: serving institutional and private property owners and investors with experience, responsiveness and a long-term perspective.”
New Identity, Same Expertise
While the company is rebranding as Harris Tynes Commercial Real Estate, leadership confirmed the firm will continue to operate as an independent, broker-led organization. Clients can expect the same service teams and established relationships, with a new website and updated branding set to roll out in the coming weeks.
“This marks a true evolution for our firm and creates an opportunity to make our services more streamlined and proactive for clients,” added President West Harris. “Our team brings decades of expertise across brokerage, leasing and property management, offering clients the depth of a larger platform with the agility of an independent firm.”
The firm, which maintains offices in both Birmingham and Orlando, will continue to provide comprehensive support across the office, retail, multifamily, industrial, and medical sectors. According to Harris, the team’s background in managing, leasing, and selling properties allows them to view the business from every angle, ensuring they maintain the high level of senior-level attention their clients demand.
