Check your nursery: Crib mattresses sold nationwide on Amazon recalled for entrapment hazard

If you have recently purchased a crib or play yard mattress for your nursery, you need to check your labels immediately. More than 2,400 Voomf-branded mattresses sold nationwide through Amazon are currently under a major recall due to severe safety risks, including potential fire, entrapment, and death.

Understanding the Safety Risk

The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued this nationwide recall on Aug. 6 for mattresses featuring product model number BYLOO1. You can verify if your mattress is affected by checking the label located inside the mattress cover.

According to federal regulators, these products fail to meet essential safety standards. The play yard mattresses are prone to an undersized fit, which creates dangerous gaps between the mattress and the walls of the product. This creates a critical entrapment hazard, as infants can easily suffocate if their face becomes trapped in these spaces. Furthermore, the full-sized crib mattresses fail to meet established flammability standards, posing a serious fire risk.

How to Identify and Return Your Product

The affected mattresses were sold on Amazon between January 2026 and May 2026, with price points ranging from $40 to $87. The full-sized version is identified by its white color, an aquamarine band, and a side zipper, measuring approximately 25 by 27 by 5.5 inches. The “Voomf” brand name is printed on a side label.

• Write the word “Recalled” on the mattress in permanent marker.
