Daytime soap star accuses ex-wife of ‘parental alienation’
Court records obtained by TMZ and PEOPLE reveal the issues.
General Hospital star Steve Burton is taking legal action against his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin, alleging that she is engaging in “blatant parental alienation.” The 55-year-old actor claims that Gustin, 49, is systematically undermining his relationship with their 11-year-old daughter by restricting his access.
Allegations of Interference
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Burton alleges that Gustin has created unnecessary obstacles that prevent him from exercising his court-ordered custody. Specifically, he claims she has repeatedly blocked his wife, Michelle Lundstrom, from picking up the child on his behalf.
As reported by TMZ, the conflict has intensified since Burton relocated from California to Tennessee. He contends that Gustin has refused to coordinate visits for their daughter, Brooklyn, to travel to his new home.
A Continuing Legal Battle
This is not the first time the pair has faced off in court. The two appeared before a judge earlier this year, with Burton alleging at that time that Gustin was not in compliance with previous court orders.
The couple, who finalized their divorce in 2023, share a complicated history. Burton originally filed for divorce in July 2022 while Gustin was pregnant, publicly clarifying at the time that the child was not his.
Burton remains a fixture in the daytime television world, widely recognized for his iconic portrayal of Jason Morgan on “General Hospital” and his role as Dylan McAvoy on “The Young and the Restless.” Stay tuned to 205focus.com for further updates on this story as they become available.
