Defense contractor opens $4 million, 25,000 square-foot facility in Huntsville

Huntsville's defense sector continues its upward trajectory with the arrival of Duotech Services, which has officially opened a new 25,000-square-foot facility in the Rocket City.

Boosting Local Defense Capabilities

This $4 million investment is set to create 50 high-quality jobs in the region. According to a report on the Made In Alabama website, the new site will play a crucial role in the test, repair, and remanufacture of electronic systems, with a specialized focus on missile and missile defense support.

Industry Leadership and Regional Impact

Alabama Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair praised the move, noting that Duotech’s expansion reinforces Alabama’s status as a global powerhouse in aerospace and defense. "Duotech’s investment here strengthens our position as a global leader in aerospace and defense, brings quality jobs to our citizens and enhances our overall economy," McNair said.

Based in Franklin, N.C., Duotech specializes in addressing electronic component obsolescence. By focusing on the sustainment of legacy systems, the company provides cost-effective, rapid repairs that keep defense platforms mission-ready and reduce the need for expensive replacements.

Why Huntsville?

For Duotech CEO Dan Bader, Huntsville was the logical choice for expansion. "Huntsville’s talent, infrastructure and deep connection to missile and missile defense technology make it the perfect home for this new facility," Bader stated. He emphasized that the move allows the company to better support national security missions while contributing to the local community.

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle highlighted that the company's arrival serves as a testament to the city’s reputation for innovation and its highly skilled workforce.
