Downtown Birmingham venue pivoting from restaurant: ‘The best...is yet to come’

A staple of Birmingham’s Parkside District is moving in a new direction. The Fennec announced on Monday that it is pivoting away from its full-service restaurant operations to prioritize its catering business and event programming.

A New Chapter for The Fennec

After five years as a downtown destination, the venue is shifting resources to bolster its event capabilities. According to a statement posted to Facebook, the team is confident about the future, noting that “the best of The Fennec is yet to come.”

The venue plans to scale up its catering program to complement an aggressive calendar of music and special events. In addition to hosting weddings, corporate gatherings, and private celebrations, management is promising to bring “top-tier live music and entertainment” to the stage.

Sports and Entertainment Focus

The Fennec is also launching an “all-new sports experience program,” designed to host watch parties, team celebrations, and sports-centric private events. While the kitchen transitions, the venue is staying active in the sports scene, confirming it will remain open this coming Friday and the following Friday for U.S. World Cup matches.

“We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has dined at The Fennec, raised a glass with us, cheered your teams on, danced on our floors, and been part of The Fennec story from the beginning,” the business shared. “That energy isn’t going anywhere — it’s just getting stronger.”

Fans of the venue should keep an eye out for more updates in late summer and early fall, when the team plans to reveal a new concert series and additional sports programming. For more local updates, stay tuned to 205focus.com.
