Fisherman finds body in Birmingham’s Valley Creek, investigation underway
Birmingham police and Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched at 12:08 p.m. to the 300 block of Third Avenue North.

An active investigation is currently underway in Birmingham after a body was discovered in Valley Creek on Monday afternoon.
Discovery Made by Local Fisherman
Authorities were alerted to the scene after a local fisherman discovered the body while on the water. Birmingham police and the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to the 300 block of Third Avenue North at 12:08 p.m. to respond to the incident.
Ongoing Investigation
As of 1:15 p.m. on Monday, the body had not yet been removed from the water. Members of the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service returned to the site equipped with specialized gear to assist in the extrication process.
