Heavy rainfall in the Hoover area has forced a schedule shake-up for Friday’s SEC tournament action, impacting Auburn baseball’s highly anticipated quarterfinal matchup.
Updated Tournament Schedule
The tournament bracket has been adjusted to accommodate the inclement weather. The first quarterfinal contest between Texas and Arkansas, originally slated for 3 p.m., has been pushed back to a 4:30 p.m. CT first pitch.
For Auburn fans, this means the wait for the Tigers' battle against Texas A&M will be longer than expected. First pitch for the Auburn vs. Texas A&M game is now slated to begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the Arkansas-Texas matchup.
The Road to the Semifinals
The victors of Friday's quarterfinal games are set to square off in Saturday’s semifinal round. That matchup is scheduled to commence roughly 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Georgia vs. Florida game, which is set for noon CT.
Auburn, entering as the No. 6 seed, punched its ticket to the quarterfinals following a gritty 3-1 victory over LSU in the second round. Meanwhile, No. 3 seed Texas A&M enters the fray fresh after earning a double bye earlier this week. Fans can catch all the action from this quarterfinal clash on the SEC Network.
