Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Dalton Risner and his wife, Whitney Risner, shared a devastating update with their followers on Friday.

The couple took to Instagram to reveal that they have lost their son 16 weeks into Whitney’s pregnancy. This announcement comes just weeks after the couple first shared the news on June 20 that they were expecting their first child.

A Difficult Journey

In an emotional post on Instagram, Whitney reflected on the tragic loss of their baby boy. “At 16 weeks, Dalton and I found out we lost our sweet baby boy. I wish I was writing any other post than this right now,” Whitney wrote. “I never imagined our journey to starting a family would begin like this.”

Whitney noted the intense personal toll of the situation, adding, “This is our second loss in just a couple of months. I don’t know exactly what the future holds, and that uncertainty is incredibly hard. But even in the midst of heartbreak and grief, I know God is still good.”

Strength Through Support

Despite the overwhelming grief, Whitney emphasized the strength she has found in her marriage. The couple, who have been married since 2022, have leaned on each other throughout this trial. “More than ever, I’ve realized how important it is who you marry and choose to walk through life with,” she shared. “I truly can’t imagine getting through this without my rock and best friend, Dalton Risner.”

Whitney, a prominent social media influencer with over 1.1 million followers on TikTok and 238,000 on Instagram, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from their community. “To everyone who has prayed for us, checked in on us, and loved us through this journey to starting a family, thank you,” she said.

Acknowledging the platform she has built, Whitney concluded by extending comfort to others experiencing similar pain: “Sharing my life online means I get to celebrate the really fun moments with you guys, but it also means sharing the ones that completely break my heart. If you’re walking this same painful road, I want you to know that you are not alone.”
