Indian street food restaurant opening this week in Birmingham
The chain has locations in California, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Birmingham’s dining scene is getting a major infusion of flavor this week. A popular Indian street food franchise, already established in six states, is officially expanding into Alabama for the very first time.
A New Flavor Hits 20th Street
Curry Up Now is set to bring its unique brand of fast-casual Indian cuisine to 425 20th St. S. The grand opening is scheduled for June 17, marking the brand's debut in the Birmingham market.
From Food Truck to National Brand
The concept has come a long way since its humble beginnings. Founded in 2009 by a husband-and-wife team operating a single food truck in San Francisco, Curry Up Now has evolved into a thriving chain. Today, the brand boasts locations across California, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, and Tennessee, and as reported by 205focus.com, the company has big plans for the Magic City, with hopes to eventually expand to as many as three locations in the Birmingham area.

Diners can look forward to a diverse menu that puts a creative spin on traditional Indian flavors. Offerings include:
- Rice bowls
- Naughty Naan Indian pizza
- Indian-style burritos
