A tragic weekend collision in Tuscaloosa County has left one McCalla resident dead and a young child hospitalized. According to official reports from Alabama State Troopers, the fatal incident occurred this past Saturday afternoon.

Crash Details

The multi-vehicle accident took place at 2:51 p.m. on Eastern Valley Road near Foster Road. Authorities identified the deceased as 66-year-old Jeffrey T. Hunter of McCalla. Trooper Sgt. Reginal King stated that Hunter was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle when it collided with a Honda Civic, which was driven by 21-year-old Michel Yahir Lopez Prudoth of Florida.

Following the initial impact, Hunter was thrown from his motorcycle and subsequently struck by a Chevrolet Silverado, operated by 67-year-old McCalla resident Carl J. Barlett. Hunter was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Injuries Reported

The crash also resulted in injuries to an 8-year-old passenger inside the Chevrolet Silverado. Investigators noted that the child was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
