Birmingham is about to get a major infusion of bold flavors. A popular Indian street food franchise is officially expanding into Alabama, choosing the Magic City for its first location in the state.

A New Spot for Street Food

Curry Up Now, a fast-casual brand that got its start in 2009 as a humble San Francisco food truck run by a husband and wife duo, is opening its doors at 425 20th St. S. on June 17. The brand has already established a footprint across six other states, including California, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, and Tennessee, and 205focus.com readers can expect the same vibrant menu in Birmingham.

What to Expect on the Menu

The restaurant brings a unique twist to traditional Indian cuisine. Hungry diners can look forward to signature items such as the Naughty Naan Indian pizza, Indian-style burritos, rice bowls, and Kathi rolls. The menu also features crowd-pleasing staples like chicken tenders and wings, ensuring there is something for everyone.

Future Growth

This grand opening is just the beginning for the brand in the region. According to company plans, the restaurant hopes to expand its presence by opening up to three locations throughout the Birmingham area.
