Isolated severe storms possible today in Alabama

Alabama is bracing for more unsettled weather today as meteorologists track the potential for isolated severe storms across parts of the state.

Marginal Risk for North and East Alabama

The National Weather Service has issued a Level 1 out of 5 (marginal) risk for severe weather covering portions of north and east Alabama. Communities on alert include Huntsville, Muscle Shoals, Decatur, Fort Payne, Gadsden, Cullman, and Anniston.

While a Level 1 designation indicates that severe conditions will remain isolated, the potential for impact remains. Stronger storm cells could produce wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph, creating a risk for downed tree limbs and power lines.
