Italian manufacturer announces $32 million Alabama plant expansion

The industrial momentum in Auburn continues to gain speed. Italian aluminum die-casting firm 2A USA announced a $32 million expansion of its local factory this Wednesday, a move expected to add 50 new jobs to the community.

Boosting Production

As the North American division of Turin-based 2A S.p.A., the company has been a fixture in Alabama since 2014, when it first acquired a plant in Auburn Technology Park West. This latest investment aims to scale up the production of large aluminum components specifically designed for the heavy trucking industry. This follows a previous $15 million expansion the company undertook back in 2019.

“This investment reflects our trust in our U.S.-based customers as well as in our capable team here in Auburn,” said 2A COO Vincenzo Ilotte.

A Growing Hub

State officials are celebrating the announcement as a clear victory for foreign investment. Gov. Kay Ivey praised the company's commitment, noting that its growth in Alabama serves as a testament to its high standards and quality products. Alabama Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair echoed those sentiments, emphasizing how the company’s expansion highlights the success of international businesses choosing to plant roots in the state.
