Popular national steakhouse raising prices: How much more you will pay

A popular national steakhouse announced it has raised its prices in response to growing inflationary pressures. In its first quarter 2026 results, Texas Roadhouse announced it boosted menu prices by 1/9% in April. The change comes as comparable restaurant sales grew by 7.1% compared to the prior year, with average weekly sales of $171,151 compared to $163,071 the prior year, USA Today reported. Of the weekly sales, $25,374 were to-go orders, compared to $22,146 in the previous year. “We kicked off 2026 with terrific momentum thanks to the hard work and discipline of all our operators,” Texas Roadhouse CEO Jerry Morgan said in a statement. “Our strong traffic trends continue to fuel sales growth and it’s clear that our commitment to delivering legendary experience is appreciated by our guests.” The chain has opened seven locations this year, Morgan added, with 22 more under construction. “Our focus on new store development and strategic franchise acquisitions, along with our disciplined approach to capital allocations, has positioned us for sustained growth and ensuring we continue to generate long-term value for our shareholders.” The chain said it expects to see an inflationary hit on commodities of 6-7% and wage and labor increases of between 3-4%. Weekly store growth is expected to grow by 5-6%, however. Texas Roadhouse operates more than 700 locations in 49 states and 40 international locations in 10 foreign countries.
