JC Latham returns to Titans camp, discusses growth entering year 3

Tennessee Titans offensive tackle JC Latham made his return to the practice field this Saturday, shaking off an absence from Thursday's sessions to rejoin his teammates in Nashville.

Entering Year Three

Now entering his third season in the NFL, Latham took the opportunity to reflect on his evolution as a professional. Speaking with the media, the former standout underscored the mental evolution required to succeed at the highest level.

"You hear the phrase a lot, that the game is 90 percent mental and 10 percent physical," Latham said. "I have arguments with my teammates about how true that is. I think it holds a lot of truth to it though. Just to be able to process the game at a high level. See the whole picture of what it is about and execute it completely."

Protecting the Future

Since being drafted in 2024, Latham has been a cornerstone in Tennessee’s ongoing roster overhaul. The project reached a major milestone in 2025 when the franchise secured the No. 1 overall pick to select quarterback Cam Ward. For Latham, this shift brings a heightened sense of duty as he takes on the critical role of protecting the team's new signal-caller.

Latham attributes his steady growth to a refined approach to film study and preparation. "I mean, you get the answers to the test every single day, what the defense is gonna do and how they’re gonna play. It’s very seldomly going to change," Latham explained. "You can learn about a player or style of defense — whatever it is just by watching the film and being a student of the game."

Looking Ahead

The work continues for the Titans as they transition into full-pad practices this coming Monday. The team’s development will face its first true test on August 13, when they kick off their preseason schedule against the San Francisco 49ers.
