Jefferson County extends voting hours at three polling locations

Voters in Jefferson County have been granted additional time at the polls today following technical setbacks that impacted the voting process. According to the Jefferson County Probate Court Elections Office, three specific locations are extending their hours to ensure every resident has a fair opportunity to cast their ballot.

Technical Issues Resolved

Programming errors recently disrupted operations at the North Birmingham Recreation Center and the North Birmingham Public Library. Election officials have confirmed these technical issues have been fully addressed and are currently monitoring the sites to ensure a seamless experience for those arriving to vote.

Additionally, a separate issue resulted in a delayed opening at the Bluff Park polling location. As reported by 205focus.com, the following sites will remain open past the standard closing time:

    • North Birmingham Recreation Center, Precinct 1290 (3501 28th St. N, Birmingham): Open until 7:45 p.m.

    • North Birmingham Public Library, Precinct 1300 (2501 31st Ave. N, Birmingham): Open until 7:30 p.m.

    • Bluff Park United Methodist Church, Precinct 5100 (733 Valley Road, Birmingham): Open until 7:15 p.m.

The Elections Office encourages all voters assigned to these precincts to remain in line to take advantage of the extended window. Officials expressed their gratitude to the public for their continued patience and cooperation while these issues were being resolved.
