Meet Alabama’s 10 best high school baseball players for 2026
Hoover's Will Adams and Hartselle's Asher Doepel are two of the headliners on the 2026 ASWA Super All-State team.
The Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) has unveiled its 2026 Super All-State baseball team, featuring the best of the best from across the state. This prestigious group, selected by the ASWA’s prep committee, showcases elite talent regardless of classification, grade, or position.
Headlining the roster are two standout players who dominated their respective classifications: Hoover’s Will Adams and Hartselle’s Asher Doepel. Adams, the reigning Class 7A Player of the Year, earned top honors as Mr. Baseball, while Doepel claimed the Class 6A Player of the Year title. This year’s squad features seven seniors, two juniors, and one sophomore. Deshler’s Garrett Reid stands out as the only repeat selection from the 2025 Super All-State team. Here is the full list of the 2026 Super All-State honorees:
Will Adams, OF/P, Hoover (Senior)
The Gatorade Alabama Player of the Year and Mr. Baseball finished his season hitting .489 with 13 home runs, 52 RBIs, and 37 runs. On the mound, the LSU signee recorded a 4-2 record with a 2.33 ERA.
Asher Doepel, IF/P, Hartselle (Senior)
A Northwest Florida commit, Doepel led Hartselle to back-to-back state championships. He hit .384 with 28 RBIs and 51 runs, while adding a 5-1 pitching record with 4 saves. He also secured MVP honors in the state tournament for the second consecutive year.
Jace Riggan, SS/P, Hewitt-Trussville (Junior)
The Florida State commit and Class 7A Pitcher of the Year was pivotal in the Huskies’ state title run, earning MVP honors. He finished with a 7-3-1 record and a 1.06 ERA, complemented by a .408 batting average, 28 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases.
Hunter Elmore, IF/P, American Christian (Sophomore)
As the youngest member of the team, the Class 5A Player of the Year powered ACA back to the finals. The uncommitted right-hander went 9-2 with a 1.16 ERA and hit .508 with 18 doubles and 42 RBIs.
Evan Malone, P, Northridge (Senior)
The Alabama signee and Class 6A Pitcher of the Year was dominant on the mound, finishing 10-1 with a 1.20 ERA and 105 strikeouts over 71 innings, helping Northridge reach the state semifinals.
Garrett Reid, SS/P, Deshler (Senior)
A multi-sport standout and Samford signee, the two-time Class 4A Player of the Year hit .400 with 39 RBIs. He also proved dangerous on the mound, posting an 8-1 record with 6 saves and a 1.17 ERA.
Kamrin Jenkins, SS, Bob Jones (Senior)
Named Class 7A Hitter of the Year, Jenkins recorded a .364 average with 16 homers, 41 RBIs, 29 runs, and 17 stolen bases.
Gavin Lang, SS/OF/P, Collinsville (Junior)
The Class 3A Player of the Year delivered an impressive stat line: a .596 batting average, 6 home runs, 20 doubles, 61 RBIs, and 51 runs. He also contributed on the mound with an 8-2 record and 3.14 ERA.
Brodie Johnson, IF/P, Westbrook Christian (Senior)
A key leader in Westbrook Christian’s Class 4A state title campaign, the Class 4A Hitter of the Year hit .471 with 41 RBIs, 40 runs, and 24 stolen bases. He also went 6-2 on the mound with a 1.63 ERA.
Jonah Inman, C/DH, Cullman (Senior)
The Class 6A Hitter of the Year and Northwest Shoals Community College commit hit .375 with 12 home runs, 42 RBIs, and 39 runs scored.
