Mobile Chamber designates successor to Bradley Byrne

The Mobile Chamber is looking toward the future, naming economic development expert David Rodgers as the successor to current leader Bradley Byrne. This decision follows the earlier announcement that Byrne plans to resign as head of the Mobile Chamber.

A Proven Internal Leader

Rodgers is no stranger to the organization, having joined the staff in 2015 before climbing the ranks to executive vice president. As part of a Board-approved Executive Leadership Transition Governance Framework, Rodgers has already begun serving as the president and CEO designate.

The Board of Directors arrived at the decision after a thorough leadership evaluation, ultimately concluding that an internal promotion offered the most unique and advantageous path forward for the organization.

Endorsements and Transition Plans

Teresa Williamson, chairman of the Mobile Chamber Board of Directors, praised Rodgers for his strategic vision and dedication to the community. "Throughout this process, we remained focused on identifying the leader best prepared to guide our organization into the future," Williamson noted. She also expressed the Board's gratitude to Byrne for his service and his focus on ensuring a smooth transition.

The move has earned high-profile support, including an endorsement from Alabama Power’s Mike Jordan and Patrick Murphy, who credited Rodgers for his deep commitment to business advocacy and economic growth in the region.

Rodgers is set to officially step into the role of president and CEO when Byrne concludes his tenure on July 1, 2027.
