Nicki Minaj Defends Trump Support: 'I’m Not Going to Ever Make Excuses'

Nicki Minaj is making it clear that she stands by her support for President Donald Trump, regardless of the backlash. During a Friday appearance on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” the “Super Bass” artist reaffirmed her admiration for the president, describing him as a relatable figure who has inspired many.

Minaj is currently collaborating with the administration as part of Trump’s “Million Dollar Pitch Competition,” an initiative aimed at supporting small businesses. Speaking with host Laura Ingraham, the rapper expressed her gratitude for the partnership. “I am honored to be able to have an opportunity to work with this administration and to work with President Trump. He has inspired many people, not just me. He’s fun,” Minaj said, according to Billboard.

Self-identifying as Trump’s “No. 1 fan,” Minaj highlighted the president's personality as a key factor in her support. She characterized him as “very grounded” and easy to connect with. “He’s not just smart, and, you know, he’s not just the president. But he’s also someone that I can relate to, someone that, you know, every time I see him, or every time I see him speaking to other people, he’s just himself,” she explained. “It’s easy to feel like he heard you, he understands you. I just love him. I’m not going to ever make excuses for that.”

When Ingraham asked if Minaj had a message for those who criticize her political alignment, the rapper offered a blunt response: “Absolutely nothing,” adding, “I don’t know why I should.”

The mutual admiration between the two has been public for some time. At a luncheon in July, Trump praised the rapper’s talent and influence. “She’s a fantastic person and she’s a woman that’s respected by everybody,” Trump told the crowd while asking her to stand. “And she’s got real talent, Nicki Minaj. Nicki, stand up, please. Such a great person and respected by everybody.”
