Passenger killed in single-car crash in Perry County
A Selma man was killed after the vehicle he was a passenger in left the roadway and crashed.
A tragic single-vehicle accident claimed the life of a Selma man this Saturday in Perry County. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the victim lost his life after the vehicle he was traveling in veered off the road and collided with a culvert.
Details of the crash
The victim has been identified as 68-year-old Robert L. Perkins. ALEA officials reported that Perkins was a passenger in a Mercedes GLA 250 and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on Alabama 219, located roughly eight miles north of Valley Grande. In addition to the fatality, both the driver and a second passenger sustained injuries and were transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma for treatment.
