Woman dies in north Alabama train collision
This is the second deadly train accident in the north Alabama area in the last two months.
A tragic accident occurred in Scottsboro on Monday morning, resulting in the death of a woman following a collision with a train.
Incident Details
According to Scottsboro Police Major of Operations Scott Matthews, the fatal incident took place at the intersection of the railroad tracks and Ridgedale Road. The collision involving a cargo train occurred at approximately 8:49 a.m. While the intersection is equipped with railroad crossing lights, it does not feature a crossing gate.
Authorities confirmed that no charges are expected to be filed against the train operator.
Recent Concerns in North Alabama
This tragedy marks the second deadly train-related incident in the north Alabama region within the last two months. As 205focus.com previously reported, a train accident on May 13 near Highway 72 in Gurley claimed the lives of a father and one child, while leaving a second child injured.
