4-star in-state defensive lineman updates his recruitment following Big Cat Weekend

As Karlos May prepares for his senior campaign at Ramsay High School, the Birmingham product has firmly established himself as a premier target for Auburn and one of the nation's most formidable defensive linemen.

Rising Prospect

Rated as a four-star recruit by 247Sports, May is currently listed as the No. 182 overall player in the country and the eighth-ranked talent in the state of Alabama.

Big Cat Weekend Impact

May was among the elite group of blue-chip recruits who descended upon the Plains for Big Cat Weekend this past Saturday. The event offered a departure from traditional recruiting trips, focusing instead on team bonding through activities like a home run derby, a pool party, and a highly popular scavenger hunt that captivated the visiting prospects.

"Spent some good time, quality time with different coaches on the staff," May noted. "Just seeing the vibe, catching the wave of how things are basically going to be this year."

For May, the relaxed atmosphere was pivotal in building rapport with the coaching staff. "It just kind of let us know how the guys act outside of coaching me, just what type of person they are," he added. "It’s kind of lit. It’s kind of fun. I can tell everybody is a family. All as one."

What's Next

With his Big Cat experience behind him, May is shifting focus to a busy summer of official visits. According to 247Sports, his upcoming schedule includes stops at Florida State (May 29), Georgia (June 5), Auburn (June 12), and Ohio State (June 19).

Following this summer tour, the four-star standout is set to announce his final decision on August 11, marking the second day of classes at Ramsay High School. While the competition for his signature remains fierce, Auburn continues to make a strong impression on one of Alabama’s top prospects.
