A tragic single-vehicle accident in St. Clair County has claimed the life of an 86-year-old Ashville man. Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Darrell F. Watson following the fatal crash.
Details of the crash
The incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 8 a.m. along U.S. 411, situated roughly one mile north of Ashville. According to Trooper Jaylon James, Watson was operating a Kia Sportage when the vehicle exited the roadway and struck a tree.
Investigation ongoing
Emergency personnel transported Watson to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment, but he unfortunately passed away from his injuries. As reported by 205focus.com, the Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the wreck.
