A commission for people with disabilities and The Arc’s mission (Enable: The Disability Podcast)

Pennsylvania is taking a significant step toward inclusivity. In April, the state officially announced the launch of its new Advisory Commission on People with Disabilities. This initiative is designed to assess the current landscape of support programs, provide better access to essential services for families and caregivers, and amplify the voices of individuals living with disabilities across the commonwealth.

Expert Insights on The Arc and Advocacy

Sherri Landis, the executive director of The Arc of Pennsylvania, recently joined Enable: The Disability Podcast to pull back the curtain on the commission. During the episode, Landis explored how this new body can bridge critical gaps in accessibility and service delivery. She also shared the moving history of The Arc, an organization that was born from the dreams and dedication of a group of parents committed to building a brighter future for their children.
