Driver Ejected in I-459 Crash Found Dead Next Day, Was Not Wearing Seat Belt

A 52-year-old man was killed in a predawn crash Friday on Interstate 459 in Jefferson County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Kevin L. Bowers from Vincent.

The accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 459 in Irondale. Trooper Cpl. Reginal King reported that Bowers was driving a Ford F-150, which left the interstate, hit a ditch and several trees, and then overturned.

Bowers was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck. His body was discovered Saturday in a small body of water near the crash site and pronounced dead at the scene.
