A South Carolina-based firm has secured a massive deal to supply fresh produce to military personnel and students across the country. Senn Bros. Inc. is set to provide fruits and vegetables for the next five years, a contract valued at up to $376 million.
A Major Logistics Win
The Department of Defense contract announced June 4 marks a significant victory for Senn Bros. Inc., which beat out two other competitors to land the agreement. The company will manage the supply chain through June 3, 2031.
Serving Those Who Serve
The scope of the contract is expansive, covering the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. Additionally, students will benefit from the supply chain through an ongoing partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
A Longstanding Partnership
According to the Defense Logistics Agency, this military and Department of Agriculture collaboration dates back to 1994. The initiative currently reaches 16,200 schools across 47 states, as well as 117 tribes via the Federal Distribution Program to Indian Reservations.
