Last call for iconic beer; Here’s how to place final order after 175 years of production

It is officially last call for an American icon. Schlitz beer is coming to an end, but not before a final, nostalgic send-off for one of the most storied names in brewing history.

A Final Farewell

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Wisconsin Brewing Company has announced plans to produce a final 80-barrel batch of Schlitz this Saturday. This commemorative run is being produced with the blessing of the Pabst Brewing Company, which owns the Schlitz brand and ceased internal production months ago, as reported by WQOW.

Authentic Roots

For those looking to taste a piece of history, this final batch is sticking to the classics. The beer will be brewed using exact specifications from 1948. Kirby Nelson of the Wisconsin Brewing Co. described the project as a heartfelt "love letter to our state."

The story of Schlitz dates back to 1849, when August Krug opened a Milwaukee tavern brewery. Following Krug’s passing in 1856, Joseph Schlitz took the reins, renaming the institution the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co. and cementing its place in American culture.

How to Place Your Order

If you want to secure your piece of history, pre-orders officially open on May 23 via the Wisconsin Brewing Co. website. The commemorative beer is scheduled to become available on June 27. Stay tuned to 205focus.com for more updates on this historic sign-off.
