Man identified after fatal south Alabama shooting

A man who was fatally wounded Friday in south Alabama has been identified. According to the Mobile Police Department, at about 3:05 p.m Friday officers responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Highland Avenue. A man, identified as Jonathan Sanders, 23, was found dead from a gunshot wound. Another man was taken to a local hospital for a non-life-threatening injury. Mobile police said an investigation determined the hospitalized man, currently unidentified, shot Sanders after an “altercation.” The department said no additional information would be released at this time as the incident remains under investigation.
