Popular outdoor apparel store making a move to Huntsville’s Parkway Place
Larger store will allow company to showcase brands that are new to market, CEO says.

Huntsville shoppers looking to elevate their outdoor gear collection have something to get excited about. Mountain High Outfitters is set to debut its latest location at Parkway Place Mall next month, bringing a fresh wave of premium apparel and equipment to the area.
A New Hub for Outdoor Enthusiasts
Strategically located on the second level near Belk, the boutique is designed to serve as a one-stop shop for men, women, and children. Whether you are prepping for a rugged outdoor adventure or upgrading your everyday style, the store stocks everything from footwear and accessories to technical gear. Shoppers can expect to find high-demand brands such as Vuori, Local Boy, HOKA, ON, Birkenstock, Rainbow, Free People Movement, and Aviator Nation.
"Mountain High Outfitters is a great addition to Parkway Place Mall," said Parkway Place Marketing Director Amanda Homelvig. "The brand expands our offerings and provides our guests with more options for outdoor apparel and adventure-ready gear."
Growth and Innovation
Founded in Birmingham, Mountain High Outfitters has steadily expanded its footprint across the Southeast. With 30 locations spanning Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, and Utah, the brand has been a fixture in the Huntsville market since 2007. However, CEO Christopher Groom noted that this move to a higher-traffic environment is a significant step forward.
"We’re excited to open at Parkway Place Mall and expand our presence in the Huntsville community," Groom said. "The location allows us to connect with people who live an active lifestyle and value both function and style."
Groom credited the city's exponential growth over the past decade and its well-educated, family-oriented population as key drivers for the expansion. In an interview with 205focus.com, he emphasized that the larger footprint will allow the company to introduce exclusive brands that are currently new to the local market.
More Coming to Parkway Place
Mountain High Outfitters isn't the only newcomer making waves at the mall. Keep an eye out for the opening of Miss A, which is slated to arrive on the upper level next to Hot Topic in the coming weeks. "We’re thrilled about these additions and the new experiences they bring to Parkway Place Mall," Homelvig added.
