Saints re-sign franchise cornerstone to one-year deal
8-time Pro Bowler will return in 2026
The New Orleans Saints have secured their defensive cornerstone for at least one more season. Veteran star Cameron Jordan has officially agreed to a new one-year deal, extending a legendary tenure that has spanned his entire 15-year NFL career.
A Franchise Icon Remains
At 36 years old, Jordan continues to be a force on the field. The eight-time Pro Bowler remains the Saints' all-time leader in sacks with 132—a mark that also sits 17th on the all-time NFL list. His production surged in 2025, where he racked up 10.5 sacks, his most productive campaign in four years.
Enduring Legacy in New Orleans
There was uncertainty surrounding Jordan's future after his contract expired following the 2025 season, but the organization and their star defender ultimately reached an agreement to keep him in black and gold for another year.
Since being selected with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft out of Cal, Jordan has defined consistency. He holds the franchise records for both regular-season games played (243) and starts (242). Beyond the numbers, his leadership has been vital, having served as a team captain for the last 10 years, in addition to starting 10 postseason games.
